Dr Legl studied physics at the Technical University of Munich and wrote his diploma thesis at the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II) research neutron source in the field of positron physics. Subsequently, he obtained his doctorate in the field of correlated electron systems under extreme conditions, for example in the application area of superconductors and quantum computers.
Dr Legl is a graduate physicist, German patent attorney and registered representative before the European Patent Office (European Patent Attorney). Dr Legl's areas of expertise include electrical engineering, information technology, automotive technology, and mechanics. During his work for national and international clients, Dr Legl gained extensive experience in all areas of intellectual property law, in particular in drafting patent applications for national and international use as well as in the related grant procedures.
Dr Jercher studied chemistry at the University of Ulm and in her diploma thesis she studied colloid-disperse surface catalysts. She completed her academic education with a PhD at the University of Hamburg where she conducted research on inorganic structures and their application as energy storage materials and redox catalysts. As a post-doctoral fellow, Dr Jercher worked at the South Australian Museum in Adelaide analysing historical artefacts with x-ray methods.
Dr Jercher holds a PhD in chemistry and is a registered European Patent Attorney. She represents and advises clients in grant and opposition proceedings before the EPO with a focus on material sciences, polymers, chemical and biochemical technology, and medical technology. Dr Jercher has extensive experience in the development and implementation of inventor remuneration models.
Dr Jercher started her professional career at a leading global biotech company, where she played a major role in setting up the in-house patent department. After her admission as European Patent Attorney, Dr Jercher worked for a renowned patent law firm in Munich. Since moving to Sydney, she has advised the IP & Commercialization Department of the University of Sydney and is a co-founder of Aphelion IP Solutions Pty Ltd, a company offering IP services.
